Arborist Reports / Distinctive Tree Permits

Cutting down a tree in Ottawa is not something that can be done on a whim.

The City of Ottawa has a comprehensive set of by-laws regulating tree removal in the city. In most cases, the city of Ottawa requires a permit to fell a tree with a diameter wider than 50 cm. Our Certified Arborists provide comprehensive reports which are used in the application for a city of Ottawa tree removal permit, called a “distinctive tree permit”. Without a distinctive tree permit from a certified arborist, removal of a tree from your property carries severe fines. Don’t risk penalties, make sure your Ottawa tree removal is done correctly with a certified arborist services.

Do I need a permit to cut down a tree?

Based on your local municipal laws, you may be required to obtain a permit before removing a tree. In the city of Ottawa, a tree permit is required if the tree is over 50cm in diameter at chest height. In the township of Russell, you do not require a permit to cut down a tree.

  Very pleasant and hard working community oriented young men. I noticed a senior citizen have help to clear her backyard.  I put out the call in a local Facebook group asking for neighbours to help.  O.C. offered the big chipper and truck! They showed up puntually Sunday morning taught me how to use it, then went to another job. Later when they finisher they came back and helped to finish.
I would not hesitate to recommend them for any job.
